The role
The System and Embedded Software Product Manager plays a central role in defining, delivering, and supporting XMOS’ portfolio of products across audio, voice, vision, and on-device AI. This strategic and delivery-focused position is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle – from market and requirements definition through development, launch, and in-life management – with a strong emphasis on driving competitive differentiation and commercial success.
Operating within a fast-paced and technically complex environment, this role involves close collaboration with engineering, marketing, sales, and leadership teams. It provides a unique opportunity to influence both what we build and how we take it to market, contributing directly to XMOS’ growth
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy – own the vision and roadmap for system and embedded software products, aligned with XMOS’ long-term goals.
- Drive development lifecycle – manage every phase from idea to launch — including market analysis, business case development, and in-life performance.
- Champion GTM readiness – create development platforms and technical collateral that enable successful product adoption and revenue growth.
- Collaborate across the business – work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and executive leadership to ensure a unified and impactful product strategy.
- Shape market positioning – define pricing, value propositions, and competitive positioning to ensure our products lead — and stay ahead.
- Empower sales success – equip our global salesforce with clear product narrative training, and support to win key design opportunities.
- Monitor & Report Success: Define KPIs, forecast performance, and provide insight-driven recommendations to leadership.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for a seasoned product management professional with a strong track record in semiconductors or embedded technology, who combines technical depth with strategic insight. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to shape and deliver innovative, system-level products in a fast-evolving technology landscape.
This individual will be a confident collaborator, able to engage effectively across engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership and will bring both a customer-focused mindset and a commercial orientation. They will thrive in a dynamic environment, possess the credibility to operate within the semiconductor ecosystem, and be comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Key skills and qualifications
Required:
- Extensive product management experience in the semiconductor or embedded systems industry, ideally in audio, voice, vision, or edge AI.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects across the full product lifecycle, from concept through development, launch, and in-life management.
- Strong strategic and commercial thinking, with the ability to turn market trends and customer needs into actionable product strategy.
- Comfortable developing and presenting product roadmaps and business cases, and securing executive buy-in.
- Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, software, and sales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Entrepreneurial, resilient, and comfortable operating in ambiguity with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
- A bachelor’s degree (technical preferred); a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 15%
