Shankar Pennathur

(VP, Manufacturing Operations & Sales) Shankar is primarily responsible for Manufacturing Operations at XMOS, managing activities pertaining to foundry, packaging assembly, test, planning and logistics. Prior to XMOS, Shankar ran Manufacturing Operations at Oxford Semiconductor (a leader in Storage Controller chips, acquired by PLX since), supporting its growth from $15M to $45M and enabling its successful transition from an ASIC supplier base to a traditional COT model. Prior to Oxford, he was a key player of the Operations team at Centillium Communications (supplier of DSL chipsets) enabling its rapid growth to $150M in annual revenues over a 3-year period. His 15-year career with Fabless Semiconductor companies also includes earlier stints in technical/supervisory roles at Altera Corporation and Cirrus Logic. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
