Before founding XMOS, David was Head of Computer Science at University of Bristol, previous to that he spent 16 years in the semiconductor industry at Inmos and then STMicroelectronics. David was the architect of the Transputer and the author of the OCCAM language. David has 33 granted patents and many pending patents centered around microprocessor technology. In 1990 David was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society for his contributions to computer architecture and parallel computing. He is on the technical advisory boards of several semiconductor companies.
