Academic Competitions Terms and Conditions
Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter a competition run by XMOS, we will assume that you have read these rules and that you agree to them.
- This competition is being run by XMOS Limited of Level 35, Tower 42, 25 Old Broad Street, London EC2N 1HQ, UK (“XMOS”) and by entering the competition you will be deemed to have read, accepted and agree to be bound by these competition Terms and Conditions.
- XMOS does not accept responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed, or which are not received for any reason.
- All entries to each stage of the competition must be submitted in
complete form, as defined in the competition announcement. By
submitting a competition entry at any stage of the competition, you:
3.1. Authorise XMOS to use your personal data for the purposes of running and promoting the competition and in accordance with the XMOS Privacy Policy;
3.2. Agree to participate in publicity following the competition including attending and/or participating in any award ceremony at the request and expense of XMOS.
3.3. Agree to provide XMOS with sufficient information about yourself and your entry to enable the public to understand the concept, design and technology of your entry. - You retain all intellectual property rights in your submission and all entries will be treated as being confidential and will not be disclosed by XMOS except as required for the purposes of short listing and judging or as part of any permitted publicity activities as set out in clause 3 of these terms and conditions.
- The entry must be your own. In the case of team entries, the entire entry must be the work of listed members of the team. You may not submit someone else’s idea or design, or knowingly cause XMOS and/or yourselves to be in breach of any law or agreement.
- The competition will be judged by XMOS
- If you win the competition, XMOS will notify you by e-mail. The judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- XMOS reserves the right to terminate the competition immediately at any point. In the event of insufficient entrants or insufficient quality of entries, XMOS reserves the right to alter the structure and prizes of the competition and these terms and conditions. Alterations will be posted on the XMOS website and all entrants will be notified via email of any changes made hereunder.
- Details of the winners and runners up will be posted on the XMOS website.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any claim or matter arising under these Terms and Conditions shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
