INDUSTRY 4.0 & SMART FACTORIES

Steam power created the first industrial revolution. The conveyor belt drove the second wave with the emergence of the mass production approach. In the third wave we have seen the rise of the Internet and the proliferation of computer-controlled machines. Now we are moving into the fourth wave - Industry 4.0. The next wave of manufacturing systems will be built with a new generation of cyber physical systems that improve productivity by delivering fully connected, intelligent manufacturing systems.

SERVICE ROBOTS: HELP IS ON THE WAY!

Service robots perform useful tasks for humans. They operate in two or more axes, and must work with a degree of autonomy from human intervention. Service robots can be used in the home as a domestic service robot for home cleaning, or as a robot that helps to exercise your pet. Professional service robots are used in public spaces, for example to clean floors, or as a delivery robot. Other examples include robots that performs dangerous tasks in fire fighting, or robots that provide help in a hospital or to the elderly.
